HDMI cable is the new standard in high definition audio and video connectivity. Unlike its earlier counterpart, DVI, HDMI is able to transmit both audio and video signals over one cable in high definition.
HDMI Guidelines:
- AWG: Measurement of the wires gauge. Smaller AWG numbers mean a thicker wire. A thicker cable is important for maintaining a good signal at longer distances.
- Ferrite Cores: Diminish the effect of unwanted frequency interference. It is a less expensive alternative to shielded cables.
- 1.X: Specifies version number of the cable.
